LL Cool J Challenges President Bush, Reaches Out To Bon Jovi Fans In Exit 13

The album cover of LL Cool J's Exit 13 depicts a giant microphone crashing into a highway and literally cracking the asphalt. The 24-year hip-hop vet describes the artwork as him spiking the mic, the way a football player would spike the ball after grading a touchdown. He's notion that victorious about the project.

"It's a pressure inside of me," LL aforesaid, sitting in Manhattan's Chung King Studios, the facility in which he recorded so many of his hit records. "I feel like a champagne feeding bottle that got shook up. I'm all excited around people audience it, because I want them to know how much I love my music. There's only one way to prove it. It's non about organism old school or new school; it's about organism classic. I'm not rattling interested in all that 'legend' and 'icon.' It's cool. I mention it here and there, but I really wanna make a hot joint. If I never made an album before, I think this album would be hot. When there's pressure situations, I ordinarily deliver."

"Baby" with The-Dream is the current single from hip-hop's G.O.A.T. On the album, he also has a version of the track featuring Jon Bon Jovi's wingman.

"I have a remix of 'Baby' with Richie Sambora, which is a john Rock joint," he explained. "[It] is dotty but it's unconventional. I wanted to take it to another level and do something different and touch some of those people world Health Organization like me when I do that rock-edge spirit. I got a whole crew of people out there wHO heard me on the Howard Stern ["Private Parts"] soundtrack with the [Red Hot] Chili Peppers playing behind me.

"The remix is hot," he added. "We creatively assign our heads together. I told him I wanted that babble out box. Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi's is one of my front-runner albums. I thought the talk box on a couple of the songs was unbelievable, 'Livin' on a Prayer' especially. So, I got Richie to do it on the 'Baby' remix. It sounds crazy. Then he did some vocals, and he did some guitar solos ... so it's good. I'mma drop it out there, shoot it out there and give way people a chance to feel it. We been talking around it, having some in effect conversations."

Among the other appearances on Exit 13 are 50 Cent on "Feel My Heart Beat" and Wyclef Jean on "Mr. President."

"I thought his voice would do that song so much doJ," Uncle L said of Wyclef. "It resonates. It has that truthful vigor to it, that pain in the neck. I wrote a song that fundamentally, it's a letter to the president. If I had an opportunity to have a conversation with him, I'd pose a few questions to him in a respectful personal manner because I think that, as a community, we tin can get further with me asking him questions in a respectful manner than me talk crazy. Instead of me starting a bunch of ruckus, I pose a bunch of questions that I thought were fairly intelligent to him, and we'll see if there's a response that comes back. [The questions] are relevant to our current president and at the same time could be posed to a president that comes in office after Bush, because none of the problems volition be resolved. They're pretty timeless questions."

To start the record off, he raps, "Dear Mr. President, with all due respect/ Wish we could have a conversation./ I would take a trip downcast to your residence, and we would talk around the state of the nation."

Later LL addresses the war in Iraq: "Don't get me wrong./ I esteem the flag/ But it hurts to see a kid in a eubstance bag./ He fought for his country with all he had./ Now we have a family without a pa./ Lil mama's glaring, the kid's are scared./ On 9/11, wherefore were we unprepared?"

Cool J is one of the many MCs who chimed in when MTV asked how the hip-hop community can support Barack Obama without bringing any minus light to his campaign.

"By being bright," was LL's answer. "You know the man's a politician. They're looking for any flaw to pounce on him. You recognize if there's a drip of blood on him, a shark is gonna come for him. Why would you say anything inflammatory in a record that's meant to support him? It's common sense. I live we're rap. I know it's vanish for us to be rebels. I respect that completely. I'm part of the culture. But there's a time and place for everything. While we're supporting this man, we need to support him in a way that's helpful."

Gabrielle Union - Union Prolongs Parenting To Put Off Adulthood

Actress GABRIELLE UNION has vowed to put motherhood to one side for a few years - because she's not responsible enough to play the demanding role of mother.

The 35-year-old star ended her five-year-long marriage to American football star Chris Howard in 2006.

And Union admits the couple never conceived partly because she feared taking on adult responsibilities.

She says, "Right now, I don't have the same urges as other women when they see a baby. When I see children, I see responsibilities, which I don't think I'm quite ready for. I feel the same about puppies. They're cute for a second, but there's a lot of responsibility involved."

REVIEW: Gone Baby Gone (15)

In a year that involved two major missing children cases in the UK, no film resonates the past 12 months in the press more than Ben Affleck’s directorial debut - so it’s understandable that the original UK release date was put back by 6 months.

Based on the Denis Lahane novel of the same name, Casey Affleck plays Patrick McKenzie, a local private investigator in a rough area in Boston.  Approached by the family of a missing girl, Patrick and his girlfriend Angie (Michelle Monaghan) throw themselves into the life of this family, unearthing a highly disturbing tale of selfish people and underlining the fact that people will never change.

Along with the local police, captained by the reliably excellent, Morgan Freeman, Patrick has a cagey relationship with the authorities, who resent his involvement in their case.  This tense atmosphere is brilliantly alleviated by the blunt but enjoyable dry humour that punctuates this uneasy alliance.  Ed Harris punches his weight as the ageing detective set on the case and his banter with Casey Affleck’s character makes for great viewing, as they begin to work together and realise they’re all fighting for the same cause.

But what makes this film so brilliant are the unexpected twists and turns the story that regularly leave you unsettled but never quite sure why.  Plus, all the cast are at their best.  Casey Affleck captivates again, building on his already impressive CV and proving that he is the most talented acting Affleck.  But Amy Ryan, who plays the grieving trailer-trash mother, really steals the show and was rightfully nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.  Her performance is so strong that you can't fail to be haunted by the moral implications of the story as you leave the cinema, forced into a mental tussle that you’ll fight with for many days after.

After almost ten years in the Hollywood 'widerness', Ben Affleck has found his feet with a story that grabs you by the throat and demands that the audience think about the characters' actions long after the credits roll.  A bold move by a bold director.  So let’s forget Gigli, kick J-Lo to the curb and appreciate Ben Affleck for this unforgettable film.

'Humboldt Park' tells the story of three siblings who return to the family home for a festive visit.
Messing will play the wife of Leguizamo's character.
Shooting on the Alfredo De Villa-directed film begins next week in Chicago.

LATEST: Actress KATE HUDSON has denied rumours she is engaged to OWEN WILSON.

Hudson, 29, was spotted sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger on Thursday (08May08), fuelling speculation the on-off couple is taking their relationship to the next level.

The pair met on the set of 2006 movie You, Me + Dupree and were romantically linked later that year (06) after Hudson split from her husband of six years, rocker Chris Robinson.

The couple parted ways in June 2007, just two months before Wilson's alleged suicide attempt.

For an absurdly comic idea, Señor Coconut proved to have more than than a single preeminence at their -- or perchance his -- disposal, managing two albums and even planning a U.S. tour. German DJ and manufacturer Uwe Schmidt (aka Atom Heart) had released dance music in his mother country under a number of different aliases during the first half of the nineties. But he'd become blase with the European music scene and in 1996 transferred his base of operations to Chile in order to begin exploring the possibilities of Latin music, which was, he said, "a pretty much undiscovered planet to me. It unveils dozens of interesting musical worlds to me." Adopting the ridiculous Señor Coconut soubriquet, he number 1 cooked up El Gran Baile, a distinctly Latin-flavored groove-a-thon, and did a remix for old Deee-Lite turntablist Towa Tei. Then he began to excogitate the possibilities of a German-Latin fusion, and plant his material in the unlikeliest of places -- the sterling hits of man-machine band Kraftwerk, best-known for their very cold-blooded, unemotional approach to euphony -- the very paired of Latin rage. The answer was El Baile Alemán. Although credited to Señor Coconut y Su Conjunto, it was strictly the work of Schmidt and trey vocalists, world Health Organization took the Kraftwerk machine ideal and tipped it on its head, putt in programmed cumbia, merengue, and salsa rhythms to feel the Teutonic brood. Released as a one-off in 2000, it received a fair amount of critical hail in the U.S., more than Schmidt had received for whatsoever of his other work. In March 2001, Señor Coconut -- now a actual eight-piece band -- was position to undertake a short headlining tour in North America, simply visa problems for some of the Chilean musicians forced a cancellation. Two years by and by, however, the band released Feast Songs, which was followed up in 2005 with Coconut FM, a collection of Latin club tunes. Their following album, Yellowed Fever, which not only when covered songs by Yellow Magic Orchestra simply included all threesome members as well as former guest artists, came out in 2006.

Guitar great Jeff Healey dies, 41

Jeff Healey, the Canadian guitarist who sold over a million copies of his debut album 'See the Light' and starred opposite Patrick Swayze in 'Road House', has died.
Healey, who was 41, had battled cancer throughout his life and died on Sunday in Toronto.
As an infant Healey lost his eyesight due to retino blastoma, a rare form of cancer.
He began playing the guitar when he was three-years-old and developed a style of playing the guitar across his lap while seated.
Discovered by the legendary guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan in a Toronto bar at 15, Healey put together his first band at 17 and later found fame with his trio The Jeff Healey Band.
The trio's debut, 'See the Light', was Grammy-nominated and gave them a US hit with the track 'Angel Eyes'.
Healey explored early jazz on his later albums but had completed work on his first rock and blues album in eight years, 'Mess of Blues'. It was due for release in Europe on 20 March.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
